A blog with guaranteed readership?

Posted by Dave Bath on 2007-03-09

A submission to a parliamentary committee is really a blogpost you can make, with guaranteed readership by politicians at a time it can have most influence: What blogger wouldn’t want that?

There: If vanity doesn’t make the political blogocracy actually active and effective, nothing will.

Your posts will be maintained for thousands of years, and get the attention of historians (assuming our civilization lasts and we don’t have another Dark Age and lose electricity).

It’s worth a look at the democracy and proposed legislation threads over at DeadRoo if you are in Australia. Non-Australians can comment here if they want – but ideally start up similar threads on your own group blogs.

If you devote 5% of your current time reading and writing blogs to reading forthcoming legislation in your country and sending in the occasional submission – who knows what might happen.

Oh wait. Yes, I have. I’m sorry, but I just don’t have it in me right now to type it all out again. Besides, it was just ramblings anyway. You didn’t want to hear me go on and on about this, right?
