you can has sayvur

Posted by Dave Bath on 2008-12-28

The Christian Bible is available in LoLcat at

And here is the prayer to Ceiling Cat, while here are arguments for and against the existence of Ceiling Cat.  Enjoy.

Teh Ceiling Cat of us, whu haz cheezeburger, yu be spechul
Yu ordered cheezburgerz, Wut yu want, yu gets, srsly.
In ceiling and on teh flor.
Giv us dis day our dalee cheezburger.
And furgiv us for makin yu a cookie, but eateding it.
And we furgiv wen cats steel our cookiez.
An do not let us leed into teh showa, but deliver us from teh wawter.
Ceiling Cat pwns all. He pwns teh ceiling and teh floor and walls too.
Forevur and evuhr. Amen.

Mildly amusing for me, but I generally hate all things LoLCAT, except, which is sheer satirical genius.

(BTW: A better parsing parody is The Beer Prayer, here.)

  1. Can’t believe someone has translated the Bible into Lolcat – that’s hilarious. Some people have WAAAAAY too much time on their hands.

L.E., “too much time on their hands”???

Oh ye of too little faith!

The LoLcat translators were divinely inspired to produce their translation as the inerrant word of a deity, just as much as the authors of any other rendering (including the Wycliffe, KJV, RSV, etc).

How is it possible to prove otherwise? For every argument about "it is satire" against the LoLcat translators you could make the argument "politically expedient" about each choice of text selected/rejected for inclusion in the Christian Canon or the Apocrypha.
