Buggered: No wonder how, now wonder who

Posted by Dave Bath on 2009-01-20

Is it any wonder our economy and budget got "buggered", as put so accurately, if not eloquently, by the generally respected Access Economics spokespersons?

Despite soaring debt, the population did not tighten it’s collective belt, but loosened it.

It was only a matter of time before we got caught with our pants down.

Frank Zappa once said "There’s a big difference between kneeling down and bending over".  Guess what Australia did to please big business, especially Big Risk in Big Capital clothing?

The ordinary folk have been buggered.  It wasn’t consensual.  Advantage was taken of our ignorance and powerlessness.  Those who gained benefit during this period are those who have buggered us.

And what has happened with the change of government?  Considering Wayne Swan’s pandering to the big knobs, his patent belief in "trickle-down", it seems we have swapped one procurer for another.  At least the old one cracked the occasional joke.

Until there is compensation delivered to the victims, as well as punitive damages paid to the state and on to the people, there can be no justice.
