Stimulus inquiry: make your submission NOW
Posted by Dave Bath on 2009-02-07
Are you critical of the Rudd "stimulus package"?
If so, get your comments to the Senate Finance and Public Administration Committee (
email@example.com) before the weekend is over, ideally after looking at the following:
- Terms of Reference
- Main inquiry page
- Transcripts of public hearings
- Submissions published so far
- Nation Building and Jobs Plan Bills – Interim Bills Digest in the Parliamentary Library
Given the volume of blog comments around the traps, and the speed they were written, if there are few submissions from the Oz blogosphere, we are just "vanity publishers".
I know we won’t be able to get a complete turnaround of policy (apart from being able to say "you were officially warned" if the package is a flop), but there might be a chance that tweaks to make the adiministration of the package better, such as my concern, that cash via state governments who hide infrastructure documents when red tape is being "slashed" is a dumb, dumb, dumb move.
- "Great Submissions to Stimulus Inquiry" (2009-02-09) updates this thread with a review and highlights of some of the submissions so far – including some from heavy hitters.
