Gillard for science

Gillard must be very pro science – the discussions about Big Sister’s speeches seem to be all about laboratories.
Sorry, my bad, my ears aren’t what they used to be: it’s "Gillard: Labor or Tory?":
While lefty voters are angry, those most disenfranchised by the Gillard/Abbott coalition are the Liberal voters who have a social conscience.
If Gillard is pro-ALP, it’s for the machine, not the values.
She seems to have written off the True Believers, probably figuring if she she loses most of them, she’ll get more from the heartless land of the Liberals (voters who like Abbott, not the heartland Liberal values of my childhood).
The middle ground of the major parties is no longer respect for people – the Gillards, Abbots, and other bastards in the major parties have driven a wedge between the left and Tory voters that have a heart – and it’s easier to feel sorry for decent folk who have traditionally voted Lib – they have nowhere to move their vote, whereas at least the lefties can keep self-respect by voting green.
The competition between the majors is for the vote of the mean-spirited: that such folk are the "bestt prospects" to be wooed shows just how big a shift in the psyche of the typical Australian has happened.
Does anyone remember the warning phrase "white trash of Asia"?" It’s no longer a warning of what we’d risk becoming, it would merely be a statement of fact.
